Erika Decaster holds an MBA in International Development from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a BA in Latin American Studies and Music from Brigham Young University. Passionate about women and children’s issues, she previously worked at Feed the World and the Institute for Self-reliant Agriculture. She is passionate about international development organizations that follow the Positive Deviance model. Erika, originally from Utah, has lived in Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Germany, and in several U.S. states. Erika’s husband hails from the Caribbean island of Curaçao and they love having an international and multicultural family which they have grown through both birth and adoption. They live with their two children in Tucson, AZ, USA. Erika also sings semi-professionally as a mezzo-soprano and enjoys performing in concerts, oratorios, and operas.
