This month’s tenet states, “We are empowered by our feminine nature and biology, and we honor our procreative power.” I have been thinking about the strength of women and their feminine nature lately. As a friend was relating to me recently the extreme trials her daughter went through during the pregnancy and birth of her baby, I marveled at the strength it took. When I read about struggles that women have physically and emotionally in the course of whatever trials they face, I marvel at their strength. When I see women “mother” those who are not their actual children, I marvel at their strength and the support of those they serve. We as women add a different – and much needed – dimension to the world. We see things differently. Our nature is strong and powerful, as well as nurturing.
Our authors this month share various aspects of being a woman and a mother. Emily shares the wisdom and insights of several women who have experienced all stages of motherhood. Lisa gives us a great reminder of the ability all women have to influence lives, whether or not choosing or being able to bear children. Kaloni shares the touching story of the strength she found to face her recent challenges. Shelli reminds us of the importance of wonder and of helping children toward their future. Michelle expresses her admiration for motherhood. Paige describes the strength of both Mother Nature and of women as we face the climate shifts in life. Our new author, Kaylee Gwilliam, shows the strength that it took to adjust to a motherhood she hadn’t pictured. Womanhood is an amazing thing, isn’t it?
